Arrival & departure

Three floors, no lift. The stairs to the second floor are steep. If you’d prefer a ground or lower-floor room, please mention it when booking.

A takeaway breakfast is available. We’ll cater for special dietary needs to the very best of our ability. See the breakfast menu.
Room access
Each room is given one set of keys — one for the front door and one for your room — so you have 24-hour access. Please keep your keys with you during your stay and hand them in at reception when you leave. Lost keys may incur a charge for replacements.
For everyone’s safety, only guests registered to stay at The Claremont may be on the premises.
Cancellation
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made within 48 hours of arrival are charged in full. This applies whether you book online, through a booking site or by email.
Smoking
The Claremont is entirely non-smoking. It is against the law to smoke on these premises. Non-compliance will result in a £100 cleaning charge.
Terms & conditions
These booking terms form a legal contract between The Claremont and the guest making the booking. By making a booking you are deemed to accept these terms.
Cancellation policy
- A credit or debit card is required to confirm all bookings.
- Cancellations are accepted no less than two days prior to the date of arrival.
- Cancellations after this time will be charged at the full value of the booking, to a maximum of three nights.
- In the case of a “no show”, the card will be charged the full amount of the total booking.
- Rates are per room, per night, inclusive of breakfast.
Check-in & check-out
- Early check-in from 12 noon is a supplement of £10 per room and must be requested at the time of booking.
- Late check-out until 12 noon is a supplement of £10 per room and must be requested at the time of booking.
Other information
- Breakfast is included in the room rate and no allowance can be made for meals not taken.
- Special dietary needs will be catered for to the best of our ability.
- For the safety and comfort of our guests, The Claremont is strictly non-smoking. A £100 cleaning charge will be incurred for non-compliance.
Security, parking & liability
- For health, safety and security reasons, only registered guests are allowed on the premises at any time.
- Free off-street parking is available. Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk; The Claremont will not be held liable for damage, injury or loss however caused to guests, their property or belongings, unless solely due to the negligence of the management or staff.
- Guests will be held liable for the full cost of repair or replacement of any unnecessary damage to facilities or property.
- The card used to secure the booking will be used for any payment due for cancellation, damage or smoking on the premises.
- The management reserves the right to amend, curtail or terminate any contract, without refund or compensation, should the conduct of any person party to it cause damage to the property, disregard the house rules, or affect the well-being of other guests.
